You are here: Faculty & Staff > Current Vacancies > Secondary School Assistant Principal
Starting date: 1 July 2018 or 1 August 2018
MYP and DP jointly form the Secondary School. The leadership responsibilities are currently shared between a Principal and one Assistant Principal. This leadership team is complemented by an MYP Coordinator, a DP Coordinator and Heads of Department. In order to strengthen the leadership team further, the school is now looking to recruit a second Assistant Principal for the 2018-2019 school year and onwards.
Job Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications:
The new Assistant Principal should be a model for colleagues in terms of best practice in classroom teaching and is expected to help lead the team onto further educational/pedagogical/curricular innovation. In addition, the Assistant Principal will need to take on part of the logistical/organisational aspects of running the Secondary School, ideally helping out with daily cover scheduling and/or with the master timetabling.
The ability to lead a team of colleagues needs to be credibly demonstrated. Significant professional development in the field of educational leadership is expected. Additional PD needs are expected and will be supported.
Since this is a DP/MYP Secondary School within an all-IB school, affinity with the IB programmes is essential. The Assistant Principal position consists of a 50% leadership position combined with a 50% teaching load. Candidates for the position need to be qualified to teach a subject that meets school needs. The ability to teach more than one subject would be an important asset.
The salary scale at Strothoff International School is competitive. The Assistant Principal will be placed on this scale according to his or her teaching experience, with additional bonus steps along the scale for the added responsibilities.
Candidates should provide a letter of application, a CV and contact details of four referees including their current supervisor. Alternatively they may choose to refer to active files with recruiting agencies.
Deadline for applications is 29 November 2017.
Applications should be addressed to Mr Roel Scheepens, Head of School and may be sent to Alexandra Leonhard at email@example.com.
