The 2024–25 school year at Strothoff International School has been a journey of discovery, celebration, and togetherness. From the first timid steps of our youngest learners in August to the proud graduation of the DP class, each moment has contributed to a school year brimming with meaningful experiences. It’s been a year marked by learning, friendship, and the collaborative spirit that makes Strothoff truly special. Following are just a few of the many memorable moments.
New Beginnings: Kindergarten in August 2024
August brought the familiar buzz of a new school year. Kindergarteners stepped onto campus for the first time—small backpacks, wide-eyed curiosity, and gentle reassurances from teachers. That first moment of exploration set the tone for a year full of wonder and growth.
Parents & Tots: Community in Motion
Every Tuesday morning, the Kindergarten area came alive as parents and toddlers gathered for creative play during the Parents & Tots workshop. These sessions offered parachute games, bubbles, sensory activities, and a warm environment where caregivers could connect and young children could explore, laugh, and learn.
Spirited Celebrations: Halloween and Thanksgiving
In October, the school corridors transformed with excitement as students and staff embraced the fun of Halloween. The Student Council led a spirited costume contest that brought the community together in creativity and celebration. A few weeks later, Thanksgiving offered a more reflective moment. Thanks to the coordination of the PTO, the school community gathered for a warm, communal meal—an expression of gratitude, generosity, and shared values.
Building Confidence: Model United Nations (MUN)
Students in the upper years had the opportunity to participate in a Model United Nations simulation, stepping into the shoes of global delegates. Through thoughtful debate and role-play, they developed public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills—all while addressing complex international issues. It was a proud moment for young changemakers in the making.
Caring for Community: PETS Club Outreach
The PETS Club organized a heartwarming outreach visit to the Tierheim in Dreieich. With donations in hand and hearts full of empathy, students spent time with the animals and learned more about community engagement. The visit reflected their commitment to compassion, responsibility, and positive action beyond the classroom.
Personal Growth: MYP Personal Project Exhibition
MYP5 students shared the outcomes of their year-long Personal Projects. From cookbooks inspired by global desserts to community service initiatives, time-management apps, and homemade robotics, the projects reflected not only creativity and effort but also the students’ emerging sense of purpose and identity. The exhibition was a testament to independent learning and meaningful impact.
Capstone Celebration: DP Graduation
The month of May concluded with a deeply moving graduation ceremony for the DP Class of 2025. Surrounded by proud families, peers, and teachers, graduates reflected on their journey and celebrated the milestones that brought them to this point. The ceremony honored their perseverance, growth, and readiness to embrace the next chapter of their lives.
Inquiry in Action: PYP Exhibition
PYP5 students presented their culminating Primary Years Programme Exhibition on the topic “How Environment Influences Human Health.” The event featured thoughtful research, collaborative projects, and articulate presentations. It was a powerful showcase of how inquiry-based learning nurtures curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the world.
Festive Highlights: Winter and Summer Fairs
The Winter Fair brought the school together in celebration with festive lights, student performances, seasonal treats, and joyful community spirit. Later in the year, the Summer Fair offered a vibrant close to the term—games, music, food, and laughter filled the grounds as families and staff came together to mark the end of a successful year.
Gratitude to the PTO
None of these events would have been possible without the unwavering support and dedication of our Parent Teacher Organization. From organizing Parents & Tots sessions and holiday celebrations to coordinating major school events like the fairs, the PTO has been at the heart of Strothoff’s community life. Their generosity, time, and creativity have enriched the experience of every student and staff member. We extend our deepest thanks.
Reflections and Looking Forward
The 2024–25 school year has been a rich mosaic of experiences—shaped by inquiry, celebration, leadership, and care. From Kindergarten’s early steps to the thoughtful work of PYP students, the innovation of MYP projects, the global awareness of MUN, and the proud moment of graduation, each experience has contributed to a vibrant school culture.
As we look ahead to 2025–26, we carry these memories with us and look forward to even more learning, connection, and growth in the year to come. Thank you to every student, family, staff member, and volunteer who helped make this year unforgettable.
