Our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)

The PTO is a volunteer committee of parents, teachers and students that supports Strothoff International School through fundraising activities and promotes community spirit through family events. We are proud of our lively community and the numerous activities that make our school life so special.

Strothoff Community Events

The Parents' Association regularly supports or organizes events throughout the school year where children, parents and teachers can have fun together, socialize and get to know each other better.

Events that are now a permanent fixture in the calendar include, for example

Back to School BBQ (our SIS family party at the start of the new school year)

Halloween Party (a PYP event)

Winter Market (a popular SIS Family Festival)

Teacher Appreciation Week

Summer Festival (a diverse SIS Family Festival)

Coffee get-together and happy hour

These events are planned in consultation with the school management at the beginning of the school year and can be viewed centrally in ManageBac.

Every month one of these events takes place for 1.5 hours. Coffee Morning is held in the morning before school and Happy Hour is held after school, so that teachers and parents have the opportunity to take part in the exchange.

If you have any questions about events or if you would like to actively participate, please contact us at pto.events.sis@gmail.com

Doing good together

In addition to fundraising at school events and the reuse of school uniforms, you as parents can also support Strothoff International School by doing your shopping conveniently via gooding.de and raising money for our PTO school projects with every online purchase.

The PTO works closely with the school administration and all staff to ensure that the funds raised are used effectively and benefit the whole school community.

It is important to all of us that the funds raised are used exclusively to support and improve school life for our students and their families. This includes, for example, the modernization of school facilities and the purchase of new outdoor and indoor equipment.

Over the years, we have already made many purchases possible together.

Our second-hand uniform store

Good quality used school uniforms

Used school uniforms, costumes (Fasching, Halloween, Xmas sweaters) and other items of clothing at low prices and the proceeds benefit student projects. The store is located in the MYP Lounge (first floor) and is open on Mondays from 14:15-15:30. The current stock list is updated weekly. The sale takes place on site and payment can be made in cash.

Clothing donations welcome!
School uniforms that are no longer used or too small can be placed in the black 2nd hand uniform garbage can in the lobby at any time. Please be freshly laundered, pressed and without name tags. Only current uniform items will be accepted; older styles will be recycled.
