We were delighted to welcome a wonderful turnout of parents and family members to our PYP1 classrooms on March 17 for the presentation of the students’ Dream Community projects. It was a special opportunity to open our doors and share learning in action, and the excitement was felt by students and visitors alike.
As part of their unit on How We Organize Ourselves, students were challenged to design and build their own communities with a focus on safety and well-being. The result was an impressive collection of creative dioramas, each one reflecting thoughtful planning, imagination, and a growing understanding of how communities function. From carefully designed buildings to essential services and unique personal touches, every project told its own story.
What stood out most was not only the creativity on display, but also the confidence with which students shared their ideas. They explained the purpose behind their designs, highlighting how their communities would support the people who live there. It was clear that a great deal of effort, care, and pride had gone into their work.
Events like this are always meaningful for our school community. It is incredibly valuable for students to showcase their learning to an authentic audience, and equally rewarding for families to see firsthand the thinking, creativity, and growth happening in the classroom.
Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate our students’ work. Your presence made the day even more special, and we look forward to welcoming you again for future learning showcases.
